On August 26th, 2017 I visited the Electric Bicycle Center in Fullerton, California to attend the Ebike Extravaganza event that Sam Townsend puts on (this was the 5th Annual event). We went around talking with each of the different vendors and I spoke with Jack and John from GigaByke. They sell a Vespa-like electric scooter with pedals, lights, and turn signals.
I reviewed the GigaByke Groove product in 2016 atelectricridereview.com/gigabyke/gigabyke-groove/ and they have since updated the hub motor and are offering a lightweight long-range Lithium-ion battery solution. The bikes cost $1,399 if you get the older version or $1,499 for the new version. The original bike used a Silicon battery but you can get the Lithium upgrade for just $300 more. The company used to be based in Brea California but have since moved to City of Industry California.
