ENZO eBike was showcasing its latest folding electric bike models at Interbike this year including ones with cast Aluminum mag wheels and optional belt drives. These bikes have always stood out to me because they utilize rust-resistant hardware, like titanium screws, to reduce the impact of saltwater environments for people who have yachts or like to travel and ride near the ocean or seas. Additionally, they use a wide variety of paint colors and offer a unique glow in the dark quality (that I have yet to test).

I spoke with the founder, Vincent Tamburello, about what makes his e-bikes unique and he pointed out the sturdy solid wheels, integrated seat post pump (many people put Slime into their tires to help slow flats then use the pump to keep them going until they can do a full replacement), a rust proof chain, titanium bolts (since people put wet towels or coolers on the back). Vinny is from Florida and he’s close to the beach so he really feels strongly that his bikes should be designed with rust risistance in mind.

My girlfriend Monica liked the metallic gold color and softer saddles offered with these bikes. I appreciated the locking ergonomic grips and integrated USB charging port at the base of the display console. The bikes offer both pedal assist and throttle mode. Not only do they offer belt drive but he’s using Gates Carbon CDX which is designed to stay on track and tends to just be higher quality than some competing offerings I’ve seen. His bikes use Samsung batteries and 8Fun hub motors, both name-brand higher quality.

The final product we were shown was a new mid-drive powered folding electric bike using a 350 watt Bafang mid-drive that helps to balance weight. Both wheels offer quick release and have a new three-bar cast wheel with bladed “spokes” that look awesome. It also has hydraulic disc brakes which is pretty fantastic for a folding ebike with 20” wheels.
